Craft My Day Ltd

This class is a great introduction  for those who have recently bought or are thinking about buying a sewing machine for themselves for their child/grandchild/godchild 

It is really important as a carer to have some knowledge of the machine to be able to assist your child when stuck and also so you can get the most enjoyment out of using the machine yourself! It is also just as important to be confident that your child is able to use the machine properly!
During the workshop we will  work on confidence, basic skills, threading and basic maintenance before completing a project so you go home beaming with pride!

You are welcome to bring your own machine but we do supply machines for all students.

This class is aimed at Carer and Child pair groups and is suitable for children age 7+
For individual learning please see our 'Sewing Machine Masterclass'' for adults or one of our 'teens sewing courses' for children.
All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

My daughter and I attended the ‘mummy and me sewing workshop’ and thoroughly enjoyed it. As complete beginners we were shown how the sewing machine works, how to prepare it and use it. During the 3 hours we even managed to make a tote bag each! It was a great workshop and we came away feeling like we had learnt a lot of new skills and excited to try again on a friends sewing machine.  The lady who taught us was very patient and worked at our pace which was just what was needed, would definitely recommend.

What an absolutely WONDERFUL teacher! I am a total beginner, and managed to my utter delight to make a granny square. So much patience and attentive to each person. I'll definitely return, and highly recommend.

Fabulous, can’t speak highly enough of the session and the teacher. I’d gone in with zero technique and, thanks to the patience of the teacher, and despite my somewhat rogue technique, I progressed really quickly, leaving the session with a granny square—which had been my objective. I had done an online tutorial previously but this was light years away from that. Can’t wait to book up a block of four lessons.

As always, a fantastic class with Lisa, well worth braving the buses and the weather from CR7. Lisa was super-helpful with a number of small and large problems I had been having since the last class, and full of ideas for how to enhance my makes. Ready to book up for the next session.

A long time ago I had a go at crocheting but didn’t do any so this class was very helpful in trying to pick up the technique again. I was all fingers and thumbs but did get to crochet a small grannies round. I must now practice more to get it into my head!! It was nice to see other members of the class at different levels of crocheting and learning to read patterns.

Excellent tuition from Andrea.  I have very little experience in crocheting as I’m predominantly left-handed.  Tried both left and right holding the crochet hook eventually deciding on left. Andrea is very patient, friendly and an amazing crocheter herself. I practiced casting on several times and  then went on to do a number of rows… Andrea was on hand when I made numerous mistakes!   Practising at home now and booked another session in April as I’m determined to get better (and faster) at this amazing craft.
