Never Heard of Powertex? Fancy something a bit different this year?
This fantastic medium creates amazing effects! 
Come along and try it out for yourself in this Christmas Wreath workshop. Create something truly unique and have a lot of fun doing it!
No experience necessary - just come along and give it a go!
All materials and refreshments will be provided - and our evening workshops incluce a glass of bubbly!

What is Powertex? It’s used in mixed media projects of all kinds from garden fairy houses and figure sculptures to paintings and jewellery. But what exactly is it?
Here’s some things you should know about Powertex:

- It’s Water-based
- It’s Non-toxic
- It’s Environmentally friendly
- A Universal Medium that can be used to sculpt fabric
- A liquid that can be used to harden natural fibres including textiles, paper, card, and leather.
- It can be combined with Stone Art powder to make an air drying clay
- It comes in a variety of colours as well as transparent
- It’s adhesive for use with sand, stone, plaster, wood and metal (for example) in mixed media projects, canvases, sculptures, jewellery making and much more
- It’s a brilliant way to upcycle old fabrics and just about anything else
- It can be used to create weatherproof art such as garden ornaments and signs, glasses and more! Glasses will be hand washable.

I had a brilliant morning  making a powertex Christmas wreath. The teacher first explained how the class was covered under COVID rules then we were shown step by step how to make a wreath using powertex material and gave us information on the history how powertex started . I very pleased with the wreath that I made within a an enjoyable tutorial.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the session, having never used Powertex before. The three hours passed so quickly. Everything we could have wanted was provided. I really enjoyed the session and look forward to trying other new crafts. 

I enjoy lots of different types of craft, but have not tried this technique before. Joining the class meant I didn't need to buy materials I may not use up and we also had an excellent tutor in Rachel sharing her expertise. I enjoyed trying something new.

Rachel makes the  class fun, as she knows what she is doing and very creative herself.   Her shop facilities and equipment are fab.  No one else will have a Christmas Wreath like mine and I love it

Craft and laugh has been created to give people somewhere to go once a week to set time aside for their craft, or participate in charity recycled bag making sessions  and have some company, with other people similarly crafting.

It is designed to aid wellbeing in terms of taking a break from life, and interracting with others.  Both of which have become more difficult for many after a period where life has been quite tricky.

The sessions are run for all levels.  You are welcome to bring your own project to work on, or you can help make bags for the morsbags project (more can be found here www.morsbags.com)

 It doesn't matter about your crafting skills and experience, craft & laugh is for everybody.  There are plenty of jobs to do, and you don't even need to be able to sew.

Due to the huge popularity of these sessions we have introduced a new Tuesday group, that runs every 2 weeks, as well as our weekly Wednesday morning weekly session. 

Sessions are just £5 to cover basic costs and can be paid in advance through this system,  or by cash or card on the day. You can choose to pay for a bundle of 6 sessions ( half a term) at a time for £25.

It's a relaxed session with no expectations.  If you come and chat and get very little done - that's OK too!

Another brilliant morning at Craft My Day in Thames Ditton. 
We all attacked the sewing machines either making bags or quilted coasters. Michelle explained the basic principle of free motion embroidery. (I feel another workshop coming on!)
A friendly cheerful way to spend a couple of hours of ‘me time’.  Roll on next week!

Another lovely friendly morning. A variety of projects - someone using the large tables to cut out a dress. Others crocheting, hand sewing and knitting. I continued on my crown project with assistance from the lovely Micky who will hopefully be joining us in the future.

We always have a lovely time! Sonia makes a lovely cup of tea, and has been happy to help me out with lots of advice, tips, and equipment when I bite off more than I can chew with my craft projects.

This weekly course is suitable to join whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your skills! 
We will build your skills and confidence with a range of sewing projects, working towards dressmaking and creating beautifully fitting clothes that you will be proud to show off!

We will look at upcycling,  fat quarter projects, inserting  zips, button holes, dressmaking patterns, alterations,  fittings and more!

You can join for the whole term at a much cheaper 'per sesiion' price, for a bundle of 5 classes or just choose to come along to 1 session to see how you get on!

All materials, tools  and equipment are provided unless we are working on a dressmaking project.

Another fabulous evening art club where I learned how to make the most beautiful window decals. I hope that this might be repeated with a Christmas theme in the coming weeks. 

The crafting was gentle and cathartic and the social aspect of the workshop added to the all round experience.  Area and biscuits were welcome indulgences   

Will be back in November.

Not only has she learned quite impressive skills and sewing and crocheting techniques but also it is a great space for her to do what she enjoys amongst other like minded teens her age.  Another extra bonus has been her ability to use what she has learned in her secondary school Textiles classes as well as make lots of cute things for friends and family! Soon I am going to have her make some gorgeous cushions for the house and hem her sister’s uniform instead of having to go to the shops - a win win! :-)

What is Crafting all about? Having fun, trying new things and socialising with other creatives! Join our bi- weekly Craft club to enjoy a variety of our workshops, each with their specialist tutor, with a bit more emphasis on experimenting and playing! This was my first time at Craft My Art and it was very enjoyable.  I was decorating Christmas Jumpers and having fun with the icing designing different patterns.  It was very relaxing and fun.

I had a great time on the beaded poinsettia class with a couple of friends and my mum .I finished off my poinsettia at home in time to display for Christmas.

Adult Art Club - Worcester Park

Quilting As You Go (QAYG) is a method of working with smaller manageable sized blocks.  

Its quick, easy and great for using up your stash or scrap fabric.  You may decide to use the design as an individual piece for a scattered cushion or tote bag.  Alternatively, you may decide to follow a colour scheme and use these pieces to create a large quilt repeating all or some of the designs.

Get to know your sewing machine at our sewing machine masterclass 
A complete introduction to sewing on a machine. 
We will cover threading, overview of stitches, and basic maintenance. 
There will be lots of time for you to practice and build your confidence before we start our project to make a tote bag. 
Walk away with an envelope cushion and lots of inspiration to use your new skills!

All materials are included in this 3hr workshop, and small group sizes mean you get loads of personal tuition.

Our Sewing Machine Masterclass is run in group workshops, available on a variety of dates and times. 

If you cannot attend the upcoming available dates we have a 'Private' booking option. This is a little misleading! It used to be called a 'flexitime' option and in essence means that if you have a group of 2-7 people you can book a private session at a time to suit you. 

If you would prefer a private session we do also have a 'Private Sewing Class' workshop available which is an individual private lesson and costs £60 for 2hrs.
